The Legion C700, a new handheld from Lenovo, is now available for purchase on the Giztop website. While Lenovo has been making x86 handhelds like the Legion Go for a while now, along with the excellent Legion Y700 Android tablet, the C700 marks the company’s first step into the Android gaming handheld space.

Furthermore, you can use the code H2026 to save a few bucks on your order, and once that promotion concludes, you can still save when signing up for the Giztop email newsletter. Not too shabby for a device that just launched!

Sporting a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor and a 7.82-inch 120Hz screen, the device looks tailor-made for streaming, which also seems to be a focus of marketing and promotional materials concerning the C700. We’ve also got a big ‘ol 8000mah battery, Wi-Fi 6E, and 8GB/256GB RAM and storage. It looks like the device only comes in a slick white-out colorway, with no other color options available on the website that we could find.

While this is Lenovo’s first foray into dedicated Android gaming handhelds, they’ve already produced arguably the best Android gaming tablet on the market in the Y700 (which also had an option for a handheld attachment in the G9), so it’s not like Lenovo is a stranger to Android gaming. The controls on the C700 look pretty comfy (aside from that potentially dubious D-Pad), and that screen is just begging to play some PC games.

That price point of $400 is a bit tough to swallow, especially given that we’re looking at a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 instead of a Snapdragon processor like what is in the Y700 line. For comparison, the KT-R2 uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, and the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 is reported to provide roughly 10% better performance over that chip, while being more efficient and reducing power consumption. This should help when it comes to streaming PC games, which is the focus of the C700.

Once the device starts hitting consumer hands, we can really get a feel for how it performs and what it can do. Many are already likening the device to the Logitech G Cloud, which was both an excellent streaming device and a fairly capable emulation handheld. Time will tell how the device is received, but having already produced some excellent Android gaming tablets, there’s a good chance the Legion C700 might be a hit for Lenovo.

    • The Logitech G Cloud was overpriced when it launched, and it was still cheaper than this. Yes, the price of components have risen, but for something that is mainly focused on streaming, $400 seems way too high.

  1. I own an RG557 with the Dimensity 8300 chipset. I’m quite satisfied with it performance. I can run up to PS3 on it. Now my next handheld will have a Snapdragon chipset, most likely either the RG 55G1 or the Brick Hammer Pro U. The only reason for that is that there are some games that run better on a Snapdragon chipset than a Dimensity 8300 and vice versa.

  2. AYN still sells the AYN Odin 2 Portal that smokes this with an OLED and snapdragon for $260. Like literally everything is better aside from a smaller screen.
