Good news and bad news! Good news: One of our favorite modular retro underdogs of 2026, the Miniloong Pocket 1, is finally seeing new colors to go with the classic DMG and white-styled ones. Bad news: Most of the new colors seem to be locked to China only.

In this video posted by user NITRIX, the team at Miniloong shows off 4 new colorways: An all-black model and 3 dual-toned versions in red, blue, and orange flavors. Also featured here is their Xbox-style D-pad that could be swapped out with a regular one and the signature removable faceplate (which is still just… clear).

Here’s where it gets odd, but it doesn’t exactly specify when the colors will be released, or if they are going to sell globally. At the very least, you can pre-order a black version on AliExpress for a whopping $110 for the 8GB variant and an expected delivery date of late July. If you were eagerly awaiting this… here you go.

The Miniloong Pocket is a strange, yet charming handheld with quiet buttons, a comfortable design, and a nice 4″ 720p LCD screen. The OS is terrible, but why not try this fork of ROCKNIX? How about grabbing a very comfortable TPU grip?

There’s also a new custom firmware by the name of Leaf for the Pocket 1, which is already exciting enough. Plus, you can finally pick up some official MINILOONG accessories, such as a carrying case, tempered glass screen protector, and alternative D-pad. Hopefully it won’t be long before we can snag the D-pad in different colors, and maybe, just maybe, we’ll see some different buttons made available.
