A surprise announcement was made on the AYANEO Discord this morning, as the company confirmed that shipments of the KONKR Pocket Advance are delayed. While AYANEO was aiming to begin shipping units by the end of August, that’s no longer the case, with the handheld now delayed until September 10.
Specific details as to what is causing the delay are still unknown, but we hope to learn more in the coming days. You can read the full statement below:
Pocket Advance Shipping Update
Dear Pocket Advance Backers,
We have an important update regarding the shipping schedule for your Pocket Advance.
Due to an unexpected issue during the production process, we unfortunately need to adjust our original shipping schedule. While we initially planned to begin shipping at the end of August, the shipments will now be postponed to before September 10.
We sincerely apologize for the delay and any inconvenience this may cause. Our production team is currently working steadily and systematically to resolve the issue and move production forward. We are doing our best to ensure that every unit meets our quality standards before it leaves the factory.
We truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Please stay tuned—we are working hard to bring you good news as soon as possible!
Thank you once again for your continued support and patience.
Since the announcement was made, a few in the AYANEO Discord have asked for more specifics regarding the delay, but a response has yet to be provided. There are some concerns that AYANEO found issues with the original design and is implementing the necessary changes.
However, it’s unclear how this might effect those who have already received their own KONKR Pocket Advance preorder. It’s also unknown whether this delay is only for the initial trio of color options, or if it is also affecting the other color options that were revealed later.
If further details are provided by the company, we’ll update this post and share them once made available.
