You remember the Atari Gamestation Go? Originally a collaboration between My Arcade and Atari, it was a massive chunky handheld that had a litany of controls and features from a roller to a T9 pad just to play all of your classic Atari games on a full sized 8″ display. A select population absolutely enjoyed the thing, and despite the stick being placed as far northwest as possible, it’s easy to see why. But it seems that My Arcade isn’t done with that form factor just yet, and their latest pre-order shows that.
Popping up on GameStop for pre-order this week the My Arcade Gamestation Retro Go is not only a mouthful of a name, but is a similar chunky piece of kit that’s packing away massive potential for a ton of retro games. They’re advertising over 200 licensed games from a number of publishers including Jaleco, PIKO Interactive, CAPCOM, and Bandai Namco. What this hopefully means for me is that I’m going to have more ways to play Dig Dug 2.
When it comes to the overall specs there’s not too much mentioned, but you are getting a “High Resolution” 8″ display, built in wifi, HDMI output, and “innovative SmartGlow technology.” All of this on a handheld with a north migration joystick, and 7 face buttons.
If you’re interested in picking on up, they’re currently on preorder from GameStop for $199.99 with an estimated release date of Halloween! Or 10/31/2026 if you want to get specific. It’s definitely a pricy machine, but if you were someone that liked the original Gamestation for Atari, you may find some enjoyment in this one as well.

So buy this way overpriced piece of crap or choose one of the many hundred dollar and under handheld emulators with access to games on multiple systems and an SD card filled with games.
