Taking a quick break from the recent onslaught of new handheld announcements, the 2026 Steam Summer Sale is officially underway! There are literally thousands of games that have been discounted, many of which are as cheap (if not cheaper) than they ever have been before.

Chances are that your Steam backlog is already at least a mile long, but what about playing some of those games on your favorite Retro Handhelds with PortMaster? The Steam Sale is the perfect time to pick up some of the best PortMaster games at steep discounts. Speaking from experience, it’s a pretty awesome feeling knowing that I can just fire up any of the games in the PortMaster library, without worrying about whether I already bought a game or not.

Below, you’ll find 15 of the “Most Downloaded” games from PortMaster that require the Steam or GOG version and that are still actually available. We’ve also made sure that if a PortMaster game works with Steam but not GOG (or vice-versa), that’s reflected in the stores that are listed.

You also might want to keep an eye over on Handheld.Deals, as we’re slowly but surely building out a dedicated deals page just for all of the PortMaster games possible.
