If you’ve been around the emulation scene for long enough, you’ve likely had to do anything from compressing CHD’s to decrypting your 3DS roms. And for the longest time that required either a sketchy app, or a tool only on the PC to manage that for you, which results in going back and forth with your SD card in the hopes of getting it right. That’s where Yasome comes in, hoping to provide a tool for Android that will be the Jack of All Trades for any file conversion you need for your roms in the form of Final Rom

Recently Final ROM was shown off over on Reddit showcasing the functionality it has, with the full list of features being provided below. Though if you’d like to know more, it’s always recommended to check out their Github directly.

  • Encrypt and decrypt 3ds roms (with support for batch conversion)
  • Patch roms of various formats (.ips, .ups, .bps, .ppf, .aps, .ebp, .dps, .xdelta)
  • Compress and decompress CHD
  • Merge xci / nsp files
  • Split nsp files
  • Compress nsp to nsz and xci to xcz
  • Decompress nsz to nsp and xcz to xci

Alongside the announcement of the Final Rom, they shared that the goal was to get this app published and available on Google Play to make it more accessible for users. They’ve already reached their 12 tester minimum, and should hopefully see the app published within the next few weeks.

If you’re looking for an app that can cover all of your needs when it comes to file conversion and compression, this one may be able to do it all for you, and with Play Store access it may be even easier to get a hold of, but for now if you want to find out more be sure to check out their GitHub for more information and credit towards the resources they used during development.
