Who would have thought that today would be the day for so many announcements and new product launches. Nevertheless, Analogue quietly announced two new FPGA consoles with the Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+.
These are, obviously, successors to the original Super Nt and Mega Sg that were released in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Along with being an FPGA solution to playing your original SNES and Genesis games, both of these consoles have a few useful upgrades.
As pointed out by Analogue, both the Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ are equipped with Bluetooth and 2.4G wireless, while being compatible with “virtually any 8BitDo controller, 8BitDo arcade sticks or modern gamepads. We also have upgrades in terms of the available ports, with both FPGA consoles offering USB-C for power input, “and a USB-A port for more convenient DAC support and more.”
Below, you’ll find what other features Analogue lists as being available for the Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+:
Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ Features
- Advanced Video Options
- Wireless or Wired
- 1080p resolution
- In-Game Menu
- Remote Power on/off
- Startup Actions
- Custom Fonts
- NTSC to PAL
- Hot swappable cartridges
- 100% Compatibility with NTSC and PAL
If you’re lucky, you won’t have to wait very long for either of these, as Analogue confirmed that pre-orders will open on October 19 at 8am PDT (11am EDT). From there, the company claims they will begin shipping sometime in December 2026. However, given Analogue’s track record, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the first wave of pre-orders is scooped in minutes, if not seconds.
Nevertheless, if you’re interested in either of these, hit the links below, just be sure to set an alarm or reminder or you might end up missing out.
