Despite being announced back in October, we had not yet actually seen what the Retroid Pocket 6 looks like outside of renders. As an early post-Christmas gift, that’s no longer the case as Retroid is showing off a bunch of “real life” pictures of its upcoming flagship handheld.
Admittedly, there’s nothing to discern about the Pocket 6 from the images, besides simply giving us a better idea of what it actually looks like in person. However, despite sharing a bakers dozen images, there is one color option that only appears in a couple of the pictures, and that’s the 16Bit colorway.
This omission shouldn’t really be much of a cause for concern, as I would’ve hoped Retroid provided some type of update if there was an issue. Nevertheless, I have to admit that despite immediately being drawn to the 16Bit color, there’s something about the “Orange” that is calling to me. Maybe it’s that it looks similar to the yellow of the PowKiddy RGB10MAX3 and Miyoo Mini, giving me those “Cheese” vibes.
Nevertheless, it’s nice to see Retroid provide some type of update for the Pocket 6, even if it’s just in the form of pictures. Despite at least one recent post on the r/Retroid subreddit, the first batch of pre-orders is slated to arrive sometime “in the beginning of Jan 2026.” Those who are interested in pre-ordering the Retroid Pocket 6 now that we can actually see what the handheld looks like are looking at an arrival of sometime in March 2026 as part of the “Second Batch Pre-order.”
