Ever since his appearance on the Retro Handhelds Podcast, it might seem like Gamma happened to just disappear. That couldn’t be further from the truth, as he’s been working on GammaOS Nano, the next evolution of his popular custom firmware.

However, once it’s ready for primetime, the release of GammaOS Nano won’t just be available for our favorite Android handhelds. In fact, much of Gamma’s attention has been on getting Nano running on the TrimUI Brick.

A couple of weeks ago, he published an “in-game XMB demo” of GammaOS Nano v1 on the Brick Hammer. Over the weekend, another teaser was dropped, this time in the form of two “captures from the TrimUI Brick.” What’s crazy about this is that instead of just trying to hack Sony’s iconic XMB interface together, GammaOS Nano uses “components from reversed engineered PS3 firmware.”

If you want to get a better idea of what GammaOS Nano will offer once its released to the masses, Gamma created a pretty nifty XMB Web demo that you can check out below.

We haven’t been able to mess around with this just yet ourselves, but hopefully it won’t be much longer before that changes. Gamma has also confirmed that the GammaOS Nano experience will be coming to at least two other handhelds, with the Anbernic RG DS and the RG Rotate.
