While some of us are watching the first NFL game of the regular season, Retroid dropped another rather important tidbit of information on us. The company has revealed both pre-order and retail pricing for the Retroid Pocket Duo and Retroid Pocket Duo Lite.
This pricing reveal also provides confirmation regarding what configurations each of the upcoming handhelds will be available in. The Pocket Duo Lite will surprisingly be available with either 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Meanwhile, the Pocket Duo comes in one configuration, as you’ll have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
What’s even more wild is that thanks to the use of the Dragonwing QCS6125 and the lower RAM, Retroid is able to offer the 4GB Pocket Duo Lite for just $135. Even after the pre-order phase is complete, the $149 retail price is going to look really appealing to a lot of people.
All of this is coming at the same time that Anbernic is gearing up to release its latest dual-screen handheld, with the RG DS Plus. We recently learned that it will start at $85 during pre-orders, before jumping up to a $95 retail price. It will surely be interesting to see how the Pocket Duo Lite and RG DS Plus stack up, and whether the ~$55 price difference will really matter.
