AYN is taking a different approach to the release of the Odin 3 Portal, as the company has been releasing a variety of videos alongside the standard promotional images. The latest of which comes in the form of a gameplay showcase, showing off the capabilities of the Dragonwing Q8 (Snapdragon 8 Elite).

However, during the video, AYN also shares various tidbits of information about the Odin 3 Portal and what we can expect. Here’s a quick list of what was shared over the course of the almost three-minute video:

  • Three Colors: White/16 Bit US/Black
  • Diamond pattern shoulder key (anti-slip)
  • Silent ABXY buttons
  • Fan Audio
    • Quiet Mode
    • Customize Mode
  • Removable thumbstick caps
  • AG Glass
    • The non-display area uses AG glass so it stays fingerprint-free even after prolonged handling, giving you a clean grip area and the AG finish won’t compromise the display.
  • Ergonomic handle grips
    • For users with larger hands, ergonomic grips are available for a better grip feel and a more comfortable hold during extended use, delivering a more comfortable gaming experience.
    • The raised sections of the grips feature added non-slip texture, so you can hold the handheld console more securely and enjoy a better gaming experience.

It sure seems that AYN is trying to solve the complaints that usually come when handhelds are released with glass fronts. Once you take a glass-front handheld out of the box, it’s usually the last time that the handheld isn’t adorned with some kind of smudge. With AG Glass, this looks to provide a matte finish, which looks pretty sleek on camera, but we’ll have to see how it looks in person.

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for more details about the Odin 3 Portal, but at the pace AYN is moving, I wouldn’t be surprised if we know everything by the end of the week.

Share.
