It seems that AYN is getting into their steady feed of information drops for the Odin 3 Portal, because just a week after their initial announcement of their latest handheld, AYN is back again with most of the details. If you were waiting for more information before deciding to grab an Odin 2 Portal, or to wait for their newest iteration, this might be enough data to really help you decide.

When it comes to the Odin 3 Portal, there’s a few specs that we were expecting, but a few things that are new to the table. But when it comes to their latest sizzle reel, this is what we have nailed down.

  • Dragonwing Q8
    • Which means the Adreno 830 GPU
  • 9,000mAh Battery
  • “Full-Sized Hall-Effect Stick”
  • Anti-Fingerprint AG Glass Front
  • Larger Ergonomic Back Grips

Again, it’s not a lot to go off of, but going off the assumption the front is about the same size as the Odin 2 Portal, we can likely expect to see a similar, if not the same, OLED panel we saw from the original Portal. To me, the biggest upgrades this time around are going to come down to the “Snapdragon 8 Elite Class Chip”, the even larger 9,000mAh battery, and most importantly; the improved Ergonomic bumps. For those that owned an Odin 2 Portal, the general consensus was that a number of folks did need the TPU grip just to make it comfortable enough for normal use.

Right now, we don’t know how much the Odin 3 Portal is going to cost, and we don’t know when it’s going to launch, but I don’t expect it to be cheaper than the original Odin 3 in any sense of the word. So if you’re prepared to shell out for a bigger, hand-filling device this might be it. But for now, keep an eye out for anymore updates coming our way.
