This wasn’t the kind of news we were hoping to wake up to, but AYN has announced it is raising prices again for its various handhelds. However, unlike previous price bumps, this one isn’t just affecting the AYN Thor or Odin 3. Both of those will be seeing price increases; however, the Odin 2 Portal is also being included in this round.

According to the announcement, these new prices will go into effect starting on Friday, July 3. Here’s what the AYN Thor series will cost moving forward:

  • Thor Lite: $259 (+$10)
  • Thor Base: $329 (+$10)
  • Thor Pro: $409 (+$10)
  • Thor Max (512GB): $479 (+$10)
  • Thor Max (1TB): $579 (+$30)

As for the Odin 3 and Odin 2 Portal, AYN says that all of the available models “will increase by $10.” The announcement goes on to say, “… we encourage you to do so before the adjustment takes effect. Thank you for your continued support of AYN!”

While it’s definitely a bummer to see yet another price increase come to some of the best Android handhelds, this is just an inevitability. With rumors claiming that the memory and storage shortages won’t ease until 2028, if at all, price increases like this will likely continue for the foreseeable future. We just have to hope that it doesn’t reach a tipping point, making these handhelds too expensive and putting them out of reach.

That being said, if you have been on the fence about buying a Thor, Odin 2 Portal, or Odin 3, we recommend holding out just for another day. The next AliExpress Choice Day sale kicks off on July 1, giving you a chance to save a few extra bucks before the price increase is implemented.
