It’s been a few weeks since we last heard or saw anything about the Anbernic RG406H, but that’s probably because the company’s been gearing up for its release. Previously, a couple of pictures were leaked showing off both the internals and a blurry picture of a supposed transparent colorway.

Anbernic RG406H NITTRX leak - 1

Thanks to NITTRX, new hi-res images show off the RG406H, confirming much of what we were hoping to see. It seems that the RG406H is basically an RG Cube that’s been stretched out a bit. Instead of the 1:1 display, it’s likely that this is the same 4:3 screen found in the RG406V.

Although we suspect that the RG406H is powered by the Unisoc T820, that’s about all that it will likely have in common with the RG406V. Anbernic is even bringing the over-sized D-pad from the RG Cube and CubeXX to the RG406H, which is frankly a welcome inclusion. And if you look at the back, the grips are also similar to the RG Cube versions, offering better grip and comfort.

Besides that, the image of the back shows off two intake cutouts for cooling, along with confirming the inclusion of a 5,000mAh battery. We can also see that the grips are textured, again probably in the same way as the RG Cube.

Expected RG406H Specs

The big question that remains, besides price, are the rest of the specs for the RG406H. If the RG406V is anything to go by, we’ll have something that looks like this:

  • Display: 4-inch IPS
  • Resolution: 960×720
  • Processor: Unisoc T820
  • GPU: Mail-G57
  • RAM: 8GB LPDDR4X
  • Storage: 128GB UFS 2.2 w/ microSD Card Expansion (up to 2TB)
  • Battery: 5,500mAh (rated for up to 8 hours)
  • Charging: 5V/2A (~3.5 hours)
  • Audio: High-fidelity dual-speakers / 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Video: 1080p Display Output via USB-C
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi / Bluetooth 5.0
  • Extras: Six-axis gyro / Vibration Motor / Large-angle 3D Hall Joystick / 16 million color RGB Lighting Effect
  • Software: Android 13

That being said, we’ll have to try and temper our excitement until Anbernic actually makes the RG406H official.
