Jalanimal: Pokemon Trading Card Game

Pokmeon the Trading Card Game on Analogue Pocket

With the hype of the new phone app, I have decided to go back and play the Game Boy Color game. The second game won GotM a while back and I really enjoyed that one. This is one I have owned since being a kid and I was always too dumb to figure it out. I am ready to go back and win some battles now as a slightly less dumb adult.

Nick: Sonic X Shadow Generations

Sonic X Shadow Generations on Odin 2

I picked up Sonic X Shadow Generations from the library (use your public libraries!!) and have been streaming it to the Odin 2 when my son isn’t playing it on the Xbox proper. I’ve always been kind of middle-of-the-road on Sonic games, but the recent Sonic Frontiers really grabbed me, despite some clear imperfections.

Shadow Generations clearly takes inspiration from Nintendo’s Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, both with the double release and the striking similarities in design between the Shadow and Bowser’s Fury adventures. That’s not a bad thing however as the design lends itself well to the world of 3D sonic. Tight controls and fun challenges have kept me glued to this one at night and hoping that I can extend my library loan period.

Zu: Incredible Crisis

Dominating gotx
Only play GOTX. All other games are inferior.

Dan W: Incredible Crisis

Incredible Crisis on Miyoo Mini

Spending the week at a Welsh Horror Film Festival, and finding the current RH Game Of The Week to be good company. It’s kinda like WarioWare with a better plot.

Shawn: Mega Man X

Mega Man X on Anbernic RG406V

This week, I’m barreling through Mega Man X on the SNES on my RG406V. I wanted to try the layered filter idea Russ had in his RG406H review video to give the screen more of an “authentic overall aesthetic” as the kids would say. I like it. I should have the RG406H in my hands next week and unless my Retroid Pocket 5 ships and delivers within the span of two days, I’ll be playing that heavily.

Joe: Kingdom Come Deliverance

Kingdom Come Deliverance

Kingdom Come Deliverance again on the Steam Deck. One of my favorite “comfort” titles seeing you play a semi-realistic medieval simulator in an open world. This time around, protagonist “Henry” watched a few women try to summon Lucifer to take down the Cuman invasion with m a g i c ointment. A few farm animals and goat men later, there are 2 dead woodcutters and the parish priest is very disappointed in you. 10/10 experience.

GreasyGarbageGoblin: Super Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair

Super Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair on Steam Deck

I had a friend who recommended this series to me after finding out I was a big fan of the Ace Attorney series, and I’m glad I finally looked into it. It’s like a combination of Ace Attorney and Battle Royal. I really dig the aesthetics of the design with its neon-pink blood and heavily caricatured anime characters presented as paper cutout dolls in the over world. Translations are a bit rough for the PSP version (and also glitches out the transcript page), but it hasn’t been a roadblock
