Back in July, we got our first glimpse of the Powkiddy RGB20 Pro, a rather unique take for any handheld, let alone a vertical one. Surprisingly, this deviates from the “norm” of what we’ve seen from Powkiddy in 2024. Instead of the more reserved designs of the RGB20SX, V10, and RGB10X, the RGB20 Pro looks like it came straight out of Cyberpunk 2077.

Besides the screen, which we’ll touch on more in the next section, the biggest thing that stands out with the RGB20 Pro is the window at the bottom. Although we can’t be 100% certain, we assume this window gives you a look at the processor, along with a sliver of the PCB. Needless to say, it’s definitely unique, as we have yet to see any other handhelds offer a similar design.

Powkiddy RGB20 Pro Specs

Unlike other handhelds in the “RGB” lineup, Powkiddy is also ditching the 1:1 display in favor of a 3.2-inch screen with a 1024 x 768 resolution. Needless to say, this is quite an impressive leap in resolution, seeing as the RGB10X and V10 both offer 3.5-inch displays with 640 x 480 resolutions.

Powering the RGB20 Pro is the RK3566, which again, offers a boost in performance when compared to the last few Powkiddy handhelds. This is paired with 1GB of RAM and dual microSD card slots. Powkiddy also claims the handheld will last for up to 10 hours on a single charge courtesy of the 5,000mAh battery.

Something else that makes the RGB20 Pro tempting for Powkiddy fans is that we have both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on board. It’s almost like Powkiddy just wanted to get the V10 and RGB10X out of the way before releasing another handheld that actually lets you enjoy RetroAchievements.

Price and Availability

At the time of this writing, the landing page for the RGB20 Pro states that “only 500 units will be pre-sold in the first batch.” Once purchased, Powkiddy expects to begin shipping its latest handheld “around October 15th.” Seeing as it’s a little less than a month away, you’ll probably want to get your order in sooner rather than later.

The RGB20 Pro can be pre-ordered directly from Powkiddy’s website with a starting price of $69.99. With this, you’ll get a 16GB microSD card in the TF1 slot, providing you with an OS out of the box. From there, pricing goes all the way up to $89.99, if you want to pair the RGB20 Pro with a 128GB microSD card slot in the TF2 slot. However, if you use code RH at checkout, you can save 5%, knocking a couple of bucks off of the price.
