[UPDATE 8/10 – 10:30AM] In yet another example of AYANEO drip-feeding its user base, the latest “Sharing Session” has brought about yet another color option for the KONKR Pocket Advance. While previously AYANEO shared that a new Peach color option would be added to the existing Indigo, Orange, and Retro Power (DMG) color options, we now have a semi-transparent Onyx Ice version as well.
The Onyx Ice version is available to order now from AYANEO’s website, with both configurations still in stock as of this article update. However, the price of the device has increased, with the 3GB version costing $109 and the 4GB version costing $129. AYANEO mentioned that this color would be available in limited quantities for overseas markets – 500 according to details mentioned during the stream – so if you want one, act fast!
[UPDATE 8/7 – 10:30 AM] After officially launching the KONKR Pocket Advance earlier in the week, the latest “Sharing Session” brought about the unveiling of a brand new color option. Until this week, we assumed the Pocket Advance would only be available in the Purple and Orange colors that were being teased. During the launch stream, the Retro Power (DMG) colorway was revealed, with the 3GB model promptly selling out.

Following today’s livestream, the KONKR Pocket Advance can also be had in “Peach”. It’s available to order now in the same 3GB or 4GB configurations as the other colors. It’s also the same price as the others, starting at $89 or $109 during the preorder phase, which will increase to $109 and $129, respectively.
Last week, AYANEO shared some additional details on the upcoming KONKR Pocket Advance in a “Product Sharing Session”, detailing a new colorway and some additional specs. This time around, we’ve got yet another “Product Sharing Session”, with yet another colorway being shown off, along with some additional specs like the chip and RAM configurations.
KONKR Pocket Advance Specs – So Far
Compiling what we’ve been given with the new specs that were shared (bolded below), we’ve got nearly all the details on the KONKR Pocket Advance.

- RAM: 3GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB
- Aspect Ratio: 3:2, 960×640

From the looks of the spec sheet, the KONKR Pocket Advance is going to have the AYANEO Pocket Micro 960×640 LCD screen, along with the Helio G90T chip of the AYANEO Pocket Air Mini. This makes the KONKR Pocket Advance a bit of a frankenstein device, utilizing existing components from the other two handhelds.

Arguably the biggest announcement, outside of the details on the chipset and RAM configurations, is probably that there is another colorway in the Retro DMG-inspired grey and red edition. The device has a grey body, with red ABXY buttons and a red power button along the top.
Pricing
Arthur shared on the streaming session that the device will launch with a pre-order price of $89 for the 3GB/32GB version, and $109 for the 4GB/64GB version. While a retail price is mentioned, if the KONKR Pocket Advance is anything like the AYANEO Pocket Micro 2, this device is never going to see a retail launch. Arthur also mentioned limited supplies and stock on the stream, so the pre-order price is likely going to be the only price.
In a surprising move from AYANEO, the new Retro DMG colorway is not locked behind the highest spec/price like it usually is, so you can get the new colorway with a 3GB/32GB configuration!

In another surprising move (but is it really?), Arthur also stated that the order page is live right now, as of 9:20 AM CST (7:20 AM PST, 10:20 AM EST). You can find the device on AYANEO’s website (it’s still available at the time of this posting). Shipping will be an additional $20 via 4PX, according to the order page details.
What’s Next

Arthur also mentioned that the device will start shipping at the end of August, which aligns with the shipping times also mentioned for the recently released (and quickly sold out) AYANEO Micro 2, another GBA-focused device from AYANEO.
If you’re a fan of AYANEO devices and the GameBoy Advance, the KONKR Pocket Advance looks like a nostalgia-drenched walk down memory lane (although Anbernic already walked this path before with their RG34XX).

Nostalgia hit hard with this one and the price is pretty reasonable. I pre-ordered it and excited to have it as my dedicated GBA player and nothing else.
