Since making its initial rounds back in March courtesy of a few leaks, we finally have the full specs for the Anbernic RG Rotate. After much speculation, the RG Rotate will be powered by the Unisoc T618, which is the same chip found in the recently released RG Vita.
The information comes courtesy of the Official Unboxing video above, which covered practically every aspect of the RG Rotate. Anbernic even went so far as to showcase the unique rotating hinge, along with showing us how to swap out the L2/R2 shoulder buttons.
Not only that, but Anbernic also shared some of the various settings that can be customized once the RG Rotate arrives. This includes being able to make it so that the screen will wake when you slide the screen open, partially made possible due to the built-in Hall sensor. It’s not all that dissimilar to what Anbernic provided when it released the RG Slide with its own sliding mechanism.

With the Unisoc T618 at the helm, Anbernic is claiming we’ll be able to play games from more than 30 platforms, including PS2, Wii, 3DS, and, of course, Android. However, with just 32GB of onboard storage, it’s pretty obvious that Android gaming is going to be pretty limited. We can only hope that Gamma (or someone else) comes up with a way to format a microSD card to appear as internal storage.
Price and Availability

Anbernic stopped short of revealing how much the RG Rotate will be priced at and when it will be released. However, apparently, Retro Dodo was informed that the Polar Black RG Rotate with its ABS Plastic build will come in at $87.99, while the Aurora Silver and its CNC Aluminum Alloy build comes in at $107.99.
Supposedly, these prices will drop to $82.99 and $99.99, respectively, during Anbernic’s 72-hour Early Bird phase. Lastly, it’s said that the RG Rotate will be released on May 11 at 6 AM ET, giving us just a couple of more weeks before we’re able to get our hands on the latest Anbernic device.
We’ve reached out to our Anbernic contact to confirm this information, and will circle back once we receive a response.
