Abxylute is preparing to launch a Kickstarter campaign for a new device, the One Pro.
On the promo page for the upcoming Kickstarter campaign, Abxylute makes some comparisons to the original release, referred to as the One. They also share that those willing to sign up for alerts about the campaign can receive 20% off their orders.
Abxylute claims the One Pro will have a stronger processor, upgraded Hall Effect joysticks, better speakers, and a higher video output resolution.
The first Abxylute handheld was positioned as an alternative to the Logitech G Cloud, offering similar specs and functionality at a lower price. The company showcases the device as being mostly suitable for remote play and other streaming-based apps, but since the device is primarily being sold as an Android-based handheld, emulation is able to take centerstage as well.

The above specs are for the original One handheld, but the upgrades found for the upcoming One Pro are small upgrades throughout the device.

The CPU is upgrading from the MediaTek MT8365 to the MT8370. The 8370 upgrades the GPU from a Mali G52 to a Mali G57 MC2 which allows for 4K output at 30 frames per second. It should also make PS2 and GameCube emulation possible on this otherwise streaming-focused handheld. The company plans to pair this device with full-sized analog sticks as opposed to relying on ones based on the ones available on the Nintendo Switch.
With these upgrades to the overall device, the Abxylute device catalog is slowly growing, but with the original being relatively underpowered in comparison to its peers, and its soon-to-release sequel offering slight improvements, it brings into question whether the company will be able to price the device against stronger, cheaper handhelds like the Retroid Pocket 5.
With a 7-inch screen and a streaming focus, the One Pro exists in an odd category of handhelds. 7-inch screen devices are typically whole devices themselves, like the ROG Ally and Ally X or OLED Steam Deck. Abxylute is carving out a lane for large-screen devices that are ultimately powered by the devices they are streaming from.
