Since we last got unboxing leak details in August 2026, Valve has been surprisingly quiet on any additional details regarding their upcoming VR device, the Steam Frame. Now, we have both a Steam store page for the device on the Steam website, along with some pricing details on the device and its accessories.
What is a Steam Frame?
As we mentioned in our initial reveal article back in late 2025, the Steam Frame is a VR headset and controllers being offered by Valve. These are going to be completely wireless, running on a Snapdragon 8 Series chip with 16GB RAM. The headset will have improved eye-tracking, high fidelity audio, four high-resolution cameras with infrared LEDs, and more, while the controllers with have TMR thumbsticks, long battery life, and split gamepad layouts. There’s a lot of tech in this machine!
Pricing Details
Based on the details on the Steam landing page, the Steam Frame will be launching at $1,059 for the 256GB Kit, and $1,299 for the 1TB Kit. While not exactly the pricing I’m sure many people had hoped (did we forget about the pricing on the Steam Machine?), considering the current market conditions and the specs on the Steam Frame, the pricing here isn’t terrible.
There are also some accessories for the Steam Frame, along with pricing, listed on the store page. We’ve got a power supply, ergonomic kit, and replacement gaskets and cushions. It looks like these cannot be purchased separately at this time, so we’re unsure if Valve will offer that as an option in the future. If something interests you, especially in this current market, better be safe and snag it now!
What’s Next?
Similar to the Steam Machine, you can join a wait list on the Steam Frame store page to be notified and offered the opportunity to purchase the device. According to the store page details, you can “Join the list any time before Thursday, September 17, 2026 12:00 PM CDT. The list is then closed and randomized, and you will receive an email with your results within a day.”
Given how quickly any stock of the Steam Machine has gone, and how long that device continues to be on a waitlist, your best bet is to get in on this one early if you’re interested.
