Retroid has slashed prices on remaining stock of some of their older handhelds, including the Retroid Pocket Classic, Retroid Pocket 5, and Retroid Pocket Flip 2. The company also indicated that supplies are limited, and when remaining stock runs out, the devices will be discontinued.
What is on Sale?
Per the post on Retroid’s Discord, the following devices have been marked down in price on Retroid’s website:
- Retroid Pocket Classic: Now $99 (was $149)
- Retroid Pocket 5 (12GB): Now $179 (was $209)
- Retroid Pocket Flip 2 (12GB – SD865): Now $189 (was $219)
- Retroid Pocket Flip 2 (8GB – D1100): Now $149 (was $179)
Some of these devices, like the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 (when are you going to release a Pocket Flip 3, Retroid!?) have been staples of the retro handheld community for many months now, and are still beloved by many in the retro gaming community. Sure, the Retroid Pocket Nova and Retroid Pocket Duo and Duo Lite are the new hotness in the market right now, but these older devices still have plenty to offer gamers.
Time is Running Out
As mentioned previously, Retroid has indicated that these devices will be discontinued once supply runs out. Several of these devices have been out for over a year, so while it’s not surprising that the company would want to reduce warehouse stock for newer devices and product offerings, it is a little sad to think that the company will no longer be offering these devices soon.
If you’ve been thinking about grabbing a Retroid Pocket Classic, Retroid Pocket 5, or Retroid Pocket Flip 2 (or another Retroid Pocket Flip 2), act fast, because Retroid indicated that this is the final sale they will be offering on these devices. Once they’re gone, they will no longer be offered on Retroid’s website.
