About a month ago on July 7th, Anbernic put out a major update for their T820 line of handhelds. This included a number of different features that would allow for easier usage of the stock operating system on your XX6 lineup. Luckily it doesn’t seem like that’s where things stop, because Anbernic is back yet again for the month not to release a new handheld, but to provide another new update for one of their recent devices, the Anbernic RG Vita Pro.
Posted over on the Anbernic website as well as on their Youtube channel as shown above, the RG Vita Pro has been updated to version 1.15. While this doesn’t note any bugs needing to be squashed or fixed, they did note the three major changes that will upgrade your usability of the device.
- RG Keymapper: Map your controls to the touchscreen to avoid having to reach over your face buttons and sticks just to get inputs through. You can save multiple profiles to the device and switch through them in the Anbernic Control Center.
- The Anbernic Control Center: Anbernic now has their own home menu that can be used for just about everything. After enabling it, and swiping in from the edges of the screen you can monitor and set Performance, Quick Settings, Button Mapping, and the general handheld settings. This one doesn’t need a system level OTA to be updated.
- RG Home: Anbernic’s new home frontend which is designed to cover both apps and roms all in one location. It’s the same as the T820 frontends, but it looks just as good here. There is apparently, an ANBERNIC account feature that lets you sync gameplay history and favorites, but be cautious there.
Again, it’s awesome to see Anbernic continue their work properly updating and improving the general usage of their devices after their release. Hopefully we’ll see the RG Home come to more systems, but for now we can only wait and see.
