Have you ever wanted to swap the buttons on one of your retro handhelds, only to realize that it’s not possible without buying a second one? What if you ended up with a spicy pillow, but didn’t want to properly dispose of the entire handheld? Before now, your only real course of action was to reach out to Anbernic Support and hope that they would help.

That’s no longer an issue, as there’s now a dedicated page just for parts and accessories for practically the entire Anbernic catalog of handhelds. Some of the more surprising inclusions are the RG350P, RG280V, and even the RG406H. That last one is surprising only because the RG406H has been listed as “out of stock” on Anbernic’s website for at least a month or two, but the company clearly has the necessary parts on hand.

On the page, you just select the handheld and then select the Part Type. From there, enter the Model and Color that you wish to order, if applicable, and add it to your cart.

As for the available parts, Anbernic is offering the following parts, provided that they are necessary for any given handheld:

  • Shell
  • Screen
  • Conductive Rubber Pad
  • Joystick
  • Battery
  • Motherboard
  • Button

Rather surprisingly, even the WIN600 is listed on the page, with every part being currently available. This would essentially let you rebuild Anbernic’s lone Windows handheld from scratch, with the motherboard priced at $236, and the next most expensive part being the screen at $66. All told, it would set you back about $355, which is $6 more than if you were to just buy a fully-assembled WIN600 from Anbernic’s site.

I suspect we might see some people in the community try to take advantage of this as an opportunity to build something wild. Even if that’s the case, there are going to be plenty of people who are just going to be happy that they’re able to buy replacement parts for their handhelds, even if it’s just to swap some buttons.
