It’s been exactly four months since the last stable build of ROCKNIX was released. That release was significant in that it added the H700 family of Anbernic devices to the mix. This time around, ROCKNIX is now officially available for a myriad of higher-end devices, including the Retroid Pocket Flip 2, AYN Odin 2, Odin 2 Mini, and Odin 2 Portal. Oh, and you can even use it with the upcoming Anbernic RG34XXSP, which is pretty darn awesome.

Not only that, but this latest build also makes ROCKNIX available for those who either purchased the Pocket Mini V2 or upgraded their original Pocket Mini to the V2 screen. Simply put, it’s absolutely incredible that we’re able to run Linux firmware on our Android devices, something that we never thought would be possible.

Adding a bunch of powerful handhelds is only part of the story with today’s release, as the changelog is about a mile long. While most of it pertains to the new devices, there are also a bunch of package updates and bug fixes that have been included.

Now, it’s not like we couldn’t already use ROCKNIX on our Odin 2 or Retroid handhelds, but it’s only been available in Alpha or Beta form. With that in mind, if you jumped on the gravy train early and own an Odin 2, you’ll want to back up all of your current data and do a fresh install.

Nevertheless, we’ll be tossing this onto a few of our own devices and will have an updated ROCKNIX Install Guide on the site in the coming days. In the meantime, hit the button below and take ROCKNIX for a spin on your own devices.
