You might remember a couple of supposed handhelds being announced prior to Gamescom before they were shown off at the event. These handhelds come from a company called “Yoniq,” and at the time, it felt like an AI slop site that wouldn’t actually deliver. Color me corrected, for now, as both the Yoniq Duo and Yoniq Portal have official landing pages on the company’s website.
Unsurprisingly, there aren’t many details for either the Duo or the Portal, even with these landing pages now being visible. It’s almost like these are still just placeholders until the company is ready to actually reveal the specifics, as both pages show the devices and price, but the rest of the page is dedicated to the “GamePatch” controller.
With the Yoniq Duo, it offers the following “features:”
- Innovative dual-screen design
- Immersive handheld gaming
- Comfortable, console-style controls
- Portable and travel-friendly
- Made for gaming and multitasking
As for the Yoniq Portal, here’s what you’ll find:
- Immersive handheld gaming
- Comfortable ergonomic controls
- Portable and travel-friendly
- Smooth, intuitive operation
- Designed for everyday play
Pricing is listed for each of these handhelds, with the Duo apparently set to cost $159 to start, eventually retailing for $199. Meanwhile, the Portal has a $199 price, with a $219 retail price, making this situation even more confusing than it already was.
Although there are landing pages with supposed prices, you can’t actually place an order for either the Yoniq Duo or Yoniq Portal just yet. We’ll be keeping an eye on these, and perhaps we’ll be able to get our hands on them if they are ever actually released.
If you want to check them out for yourself, hit the links below and let us know what you think as Yoniq tries to make a name for itself.
