For years, iOS users have had to figure out ways to play their favorite game emulator for iPhone. Thankfully, the wait is finally over as Delta is now available for download on the Apple App Store.

Delta is the successor to the popular GBA4iOS emulator that first made its debut on iOS devices all the way back in 2014. For five years, GBA4iOS was the go-to choice for those wanting to play Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games on iPhone. Since then, Delta has continued to grow and receive incredible support despite not being available on the App Store.

Instead, the developers have resorted to creating an alternative app store called “AltStore.” For the unaware, this allows you to install various apps without your iPhone or iPad needing to be jailbroken. One of the problems with this approach is that you have to “refresh” your apps once every seven days. If you pass that 7-day limit, the app simply won’t open and you’ll need to set up the AltStore connection with the AltServer app.

Anyway, we don’t have to worry about that any longer, as Delta is now available for download from the official Apple App Store. Unsurprisingly, the best game emulator for iPhone is free to download and includes a plethora of fantastic features.

In addition to emulating the Game Boy Advance, Delta also supports the following consoles:

• Nintendo Entertainment System
• Super Nintendo Entertainment System
• Nintendo 64
• Game Boy (Color)
• Game Boy Advance
• Nintendo DS

You can also pair your favorite controller with your iPhone or iPad and play those emulated games. So pretty much any controller that works for other games on your iPhone also works with the Delta game emulator for iPhone.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! There’s a feature included called “Delta Sync” that lets you sync your save states with either Google Drive or Dropbox. This way you can pick right up from where you left off from another device, and even automatically make a backup of your save state.

Getting everything set up for Delta is easy enough, provided you have access to your legally backed-up ROM files. Just open the app, tap the + button in the top right corner, navigate to the folder where your games are, select the one you want to play and you’re good to go! The only “catch” here is that in order to play Nintendo DS games, there are three BIOS files that need to be loaded first.

Adding even more fun to the mix is the option to use different controller skins based on the console that you’re playing. You can even go so far as to create or download various options if the ones included don’t really fit your style.
