Lakka

This is a new one for me. Long removed from the world of Raspberry Pi emulation, I don’t think I knew that RetroArch had an official lightweight Linux distro with a PS3 menu-style frontend.

Lakka is the official Linux distribution of RetroArch and the libretro ecosystem.

Each game system is implemented as a libretro core, while the frontend RetroArch takes care of inputs and display. This clear separation ensures modularity and centralized configuration.

  • Download the Lakka G350 build from developer PaulyBoi390’s GitHub.
  • Using 7zip, WinRar, or your choice of archive software to unpack the downloaded lakkaG350.img.gz archive and extract the .img within to a directory of your choice on your PC.
Unpack_Lakka_imgxyz
  • Write the extracted lakkaG350.img using Balena Etcher or the software of your choice (USB Image Writer pictured)

  • Power on the handheld and allow the OS to unpack and install
  • Remove the newly written SD card from your PC and insert it into the G350

  • You should be greeted by the Lakka logo and boot into the OS!

Note: After installation on my G350, the controls were inverted. Fixing the issue is as simple as navigating your way over to control options and resetting the global assignments

Any info on how to fix the right joystick issue? It seems that when ArkOS is installed the stick configuration is rotated 90 degrees anticlockwise. So left is up, up is right etc. I tried a few fixes that I found here and there but none fixed the issue so I had to go back to the StockOS ( even though I liked ArkOS more )

  2. I wish I would’ve seen this before I played and created save states. I lost my save state in my favorite game and now I can’t save any game (it freezes and gets stuck at saving 0%). Is there a fix like a cache refresh in the original software or is it cooked because of the SD card? If so is it still salvageable to transfer to Arkos and keep all the games it came with?

    • I played my game when I got not knowing I had to do anything else to it now I turned it on and it says no SD card. What should I do I
