It’s been a few weeks, but we finally know more details about Ayaneo’s next Windows handheld, the Ayaneo 3. The company published a new video to its YouTube channel showing off the design, in addition to some key specs and features.
Starting off, the Ayaneo 3 will be available in multiple configurations, with both options featuring a 7-inch display. However, we will have the opportunity to choose between an OLED HDR panel with “high refresh,” or an LCD screen that uses a “native horizontal” panel. Although Ayaneo didn’t share the resolution or refresh rate, we can only assume it’ll at least be 1080p with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Moving onto what’s powering this new handheld, you’ll be able to choose between either the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 or the Ryzen 7 8840U. It seems that the AI 9 HX 370 is next in line to become the “flagship” SoC for Windows handhelds, but hopefully, that means that the 8840U models will be a bit more affordable.
Ayaneo stopped short of revealing all of the details about the Ayaneo 3, but did reveal a few key features that we can expect to see. These include things like Trigger Lock Keys, giving you control over how far down you need to push the trigger before it’s activated. The Ayaneo 3 will also sport “new rear buttons,” which could either come in rather handy, but honestly look like they’ll get in the way depending on how you’re holding the handheld.
After a few glamour shots of the handheld, the video shows off the “tagline” for the Ayaneo 3: Disruption and Revolution. Then, it tells us that there’s still “more information to be unveiled,” before throwing up a QR code that takes you to the Ayaneo Discord channel.
Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too much longer to get the full picture of what the Ayaneo 3 will bring to the market.
