Just a few days ago, Anbernic announced that the RG DS Plus will soon be released, and the company is back to show off some gameplay footage.
For more than half the length of the video, we can see the RG DS Plus playing a variety of Nintendo DS games, all using Anbernic’s new “NNDDSS” emulator. The games shown include The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, and more, with the games seemingly running pretty smoothly.
Anbernic also shows off some of the games that take advantage of stylus support, such as Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword and Summon Night: Twin Age. Plus games like Pokémon White Version 2 and Rhythm Heaven are also shown off.
From there, some non-DS emulation is shown off, for a variety of consoles like the PS1, PSP, Sega Genesis, and others. While some might focus on the games being played, Anbernic also took the opportunity to give us a look at what we can expect from the software when playing non-DS titles.
For instance, when playing Sword of Mana for the Game Boy Advance, the game is being played on the top screen, with a placeholder “Now Playing” graphic is shown on the bottom screen. However, you can also flip this layout, as seen when Crazy Taxi is being played on the bottom screen, and the Now Playing graphic being shown on the top screen.
To round out the gameplay showcase, Anbernic shows the RG DS Plus playing some Forza Horizon 5 being streamed from a PC to the handheld. And lastly, Anbernic gives us a look at what two-player netplay gaming will look like.
We have to imagine that the Anbernic RG DS Plus will be officially released very soon, as that’s usually the schedule when Anbernic drops a “Gameplay Showcase” video. The team’s review units should begin showing up within the coming days, so stay tuned as we gear up for another potentially exciting launch from Anbernic.
