The Analogue 3D has now been delayed for a fourth time following a recent, and now outdated,  announcement that the console would be delayed to August.

In the middle of July, the company had delayed the Analogue 3D a single month from its original July release date to August. However, with only ten days left in the month, the company has further announced that the console will not be launching until, at the very earliest, October: Q4 2025.

Leading Up to the Analogue 3D

Recently, one of Analogue’s closest business partners, 8BitDo, began shipments of their modernized N64 controller. It serves as the main controller for the Analogue 3D, but since the console has been delayed yet again, the controller lives on its own. The controller, however, can function as a standard bluetooth controller on any other device it can pair with. It is not exclusive to the Analogue 3D in any way, just styled after and meant to complement it.

The aforementioned controller matches the Analogue 3D in both style and presentation. As opposed to recreating the N64 outright, Analogue is modernizing it, allowing for 4K output, and adopting a minimalistic overall design. 8BitDo is doing the same with their N64 controller, and it’s no secret why. Both Analogue and 8BitDo share Christopher Taber; he serves as CEO of Analogue and CMO of 8BitDo.

Analogue Another Delay

Throughout Analogue’s history, they have been scrutinized heavily by their fans for their lack of communication, refusal to share any pertinent updates, and sometimes their overall business practices come into question. For instance, with the Analogue Pocket, the company released multiple limited edition variants that ultimately just saw the shells being swapped but charged an abundant premium.

Analogue has also been prone to delay consoles well beyond their original announced ship date. Every single console released by the company since the Analogue Pocket has been delayed at least once. The Pocket, however, faced setbacks due to COVID restrictions and the hurdles involved with facing the pandemic.

Now, the company is claiming that “rare issues” are to blame for this latest delay. They also claim that the device is 99% ready to ship, but that final 1% still needs tweaking.

Analogue announced delay fo 3D from Aug 2025 to Q4 2025

To date, no news, reviews, reports, or rumors about the console have surfaced. Be it officially or otherwise, the only information we have about the console are its many delays and the specs shared by Analogue alongside its initial announcement.

As frustrating as delays may be, the end console may prove to be one of the best ways to play N64 games if it can deliver on the promises made. However, with so many delays impacting the console and only vague details shared, it does draw into question whether the company was as flippant with their description of the console’s features as they are with its shipment timelines.

Still, should anyone be interested in purchasing the Analogue 3D, pre-orders are currently sold out. However, cancellations based off this new delay announcements are inevitable, and once product becomes available, it can be pre-ordered for $249.99 in both black and white. The controllers are now immediately available for $39.99 on Amazon, in the same hues of black and white as the console.
