Greetings everyone! Mikhailov here with another look at what games we played this week.
This week, Stubbs continues to go full GBA with the AYANEO Classic, Zu beats GotM, and Ban does something unexpected!
We’re also interested in what games you’re playing. Use the button below to let us know, and you may be featured in this weekly article.
Stubbs: Kuru Kuru Kururin
- Played on: AYANEO Pocket Classic Micro
Loved this game, no matter what Zu says!
Zu: Royal Stone
- Played on: Powkiddy V20
Dominating Royal Stone in the cruddy muddy outdoors.
Nick: Buster Bros.
- Played on: SJGAM M21
Having fun with GoTW. Buster Bros is one of my favorite arcades from back in the day and one of those games I find myself gravitating to on new devices. I’m playing it here on the previously cruddy M21, which has been given new life thanks to MyMinUI. A device that was the definition of mediocrity, the SJGAM M21 is the latest to be saved by the community.
Dan W: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle
- Played on: Lenovo Y700 via Xbox Game Pass
Desperately trying to finish this before my Game Pass subscription runs out at the end of March. To be honest, the game was only greatly enjoyable in the first major location (The Vatican), yet I persevered.
Ban: Sonic Advance 2
- Played on: Anbernic RG34XX
After finishing the Dirt Campaign I decided to actually try and finish more retro games. So, I’ve been playing fully through the Sonic Advance series on the 34XX. Taking my time, yes, but also having fun with it.
JaLanimal: Roller Coaster Tycoon 2
- Played on: ASUS ROG Ally X
Now that I have my PC gaming corner set up, I’m reliving my childhood with Roller Coaster Tycoon 2.
Joe: GBA SP Building Simulator
No playing here, just building some Game Boy SPs! Today we are looking at a FunnyPlaying ITA kit for the Game Boy Advance SP in a clear black shell and glow-in-the-dark rubber membranes (gorgeous, perfect, and practical). The screen was calibrated and the build was built with love.
What YOU’RE Playing
Pinizz: Hades
- Played on: Valve Steam Deck
Great game and great device. I’m enjoying it.
PastyTaco: Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire
- Played on: Miyoo Mini Plus
It’s great felling the nostalgia of playing one of my first games on my Game Boy.

Just Started Zelda Wind Waker on Odin 2 Pro
Even better with Hypatias HD texture pack!
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Dave the Diver, Metal Slug 4.
Ive been playing FF7Rb for a bit but definitely love to mix it up with retro games. DTD is new but plays like a retro and is great so far! Who can go wrong with the MEtal Slug series??? Working my way thru all of them again, and I love it!
All great games! I loved DTD. Such a fun gameplay loop. I need to go back and play more myself!
Worth it for the free DLC
Super Metroid Redux on the 40xx.
Redux has a “hard” mode and the option to increase gravity so Samus feels similar to the GBA games. It’s a great time 👍
That sounds great! I may need to give the game another try with that. Are playing for GOTM or just for fun? Care if we may feature your answer in our article in the future?
Not at all, please do! 👍
And it’s just for fun. I’ve done one GOTY before but personal life is just a weeee bit busy to finish games (even Super Metroid) in that time window right meow.
Strife, Super Metroid, Devil may Cry. Basically all 3 GOTM I beat. Wendy as well in GOTW. But my banger now is The Godfather for PS2, the offer that I just can’t refuse
All the GOTM are done. Now is Pepsiman on PS1 and K1 World Grand Prix on PS2
did they finally finish the translation of star ocean: blue sphere? or is stubbs playing the unfinished translation that’s been out for a while?
Just finished Pokémon Fire Red on my 35xx SP, and I’m currently playing Outer Wilds in my Steam Deck. What an amazing game!!!
Iron Meat on Ally X Streets of Rage 4 RG556.
Chained Echoes on Steam Deck OLED
Picked it up on sale recently and have been hooked. The retro aesthetic combined with a ton of quality of life improvements over the classics makes it a big win in my book.
How is Vampire Survivors still relevant almost 3 years later? Because they keep adding updates and free DLC, and the DLC is very inexpensive but immensely fun.
Based Zu
I just modded my old OLED Ps Vita not long ago, so right now is Silent Hill Origins. After that:
-Silent Hill Shattered Memories
-Parasite Eve 1-2
-Steins Gate
-Patapon
.. and soo many other cool games.
How to run AM2R on 34XX? And how to do the mod to make it 3:2? I would love to play it.
y’all playing real games, im playing tetris from the chromatic on miyoo flip on the 2 min mode
Midnight Club 3 looking especially crisp on that OLED screen! Wish my RP4P had one like that, can’t upgrade to the 5 just yet but I’ve got Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones to keep me busy till then
Just got a RG-35XX SP, been playing Golden Sun.
A little bit of Doom I – Ultimate on my Miyoo Mini Plus, but mainly a game called trying to get NextUI running on my Trimui Smart Pro (which I did with extra pak’s though ports not working and NDS has a annoying clicking sound glitch)
