Abxylute is a company that’s had a bit of an interesting path. Starting out with an underpowered, streaming focused handheld, they’ve evolved into a company that mostly sells telescopic controllers with a side focus of random handhelds including the One, One Pro, and E1. Their telescopic controllers have always been solid, but when Abxylute dropped their compact M4 most people just wondered why. Jump forwards, and it seems like Abxylute is giving it another go thanks to the announcement of their M5 and M6 phone controllers.
Thanks to an announcement over on Twitter, you can see that Abxylute has two options that will attach to the back of your phone via Magsafe, and will slide out when you want to use it. If you haven’t heard of this idea before, it’s incredibly similar to that of the MCON; another Magsafe, Bluetooth controller that slides out from your phone when you want to use it. And to add to that unfortunate coincidence, it seems that Abxylute is going to go even further by having a second “slim model” as an option if you find the M6 to be too thick. This idea being something that the team at OhSnap has been working on since at least CES 2026.

While it’s great to see more competition in this admittedly small crowd of options, this shows what happens when you wait to follow other great ideas. Hopefully this brings more attention to this PSP Go styled setup, but for now, we’ll simply have to wait and see what Abxylute’s Kickstarter brings. As at the time of writing, we still don’t know the prices.
