It seems like Logitech is finally retiring the G Cloud after almost four years of being arguably the best cloud-streaming-focused gaming handheld. Thanks to Computex 2026, Acer is wasting no time in announcing a potential replacement, as the Nitro Blaze Link was officially introduced.

This one flew under the radar, given the focus on Acer’s Intel Arc G3 Extreme handheld, the Predator Atlas 8. However, that might be for the best since the only commonalities between the Atlas 8 and Blaze Link are that they are gaming handhelds from Acer announced at Computex.

The spec sheet for the Nitro Blaze Link is nothing short of simply boring, with the exception of the 7-inch display, sporting a 16:10 aspect ratio courtesy of the 1920 x 1200 resolution. Acer didn’t even share what processor will be powering the handheld, but did share that it features 1GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 8GB of eMMC storage.

There’s no mention of whether a microSD card slot is onboard, which might really limit the potential here. That’s because, unlike the aforementioned G Cloud, which was powered by Android, the Nitro Blaze Link is actually going to be running some form of Linux.

My mind immediately jumped to picturing the Nitro Blaze Link running something like muOS or KNULLI. There’s just something about the idea of having a retro handheld, not running Android out of the box, with a 7-inch screen. But all of it really hinges on whether there’s any way to add more storage; otherwise, it’ll be just the latest e-waste to hit the market.

Pricing and specific availability details were not revealed in the announcement. However, Acer confirmed the Nitro Blaze Link will arrive in North America in Q4 2026, with more details to be “announced at a later date.”
