Analogue just announced a new wave of Analogue 3D limited editions styled after unreleased Nintendo 64 prototype colorways, with names like Ghost, Glacier, Extreme Green, Ocean, and the inevitable Atomic Purple leading the charge.
These are still the same FPGA Analogue 3D units under the hood, but the theming goes past a translucent shell, as each unit ships with matching cables so the whole package looks cohesive out of the box. Analogue is once again partnering with 8BitDo for color‑matched wireless controllers, which can be purchased directly from 8BitDo.
Analogue is describing these prototype editions as “extremely limited”, with a price tag of $299.99. The company says shipments will start 24 to 48 hours after orders are finalized, which at least softens the usual pre‑order fatigue a bit. 8BitDo’s matching controllers are set to go on sale alongside the consoles, with their first batches expected to start shipping in April.

For those not hip to the Analogue 3D, its an HDMI‑ready Nintendo 64 clone that leans on FPGA accuracy instead of software emulation and is aimed at people who want a very, very fancy way to run original cartridges on modern displays. Analogue’s whole play has always been “luxury nostalgia”, so unreleased Nintendo 64 prototypes are about as on‑brand as it gets.
If you missed the Funtastic run or just have really strong feelings about Atomic Purple that Nintendo never quite catered to in console form, you will want to mosey on over to their site and say goodbye to three bills. For everyone else, this is another reminder that boutique FPGA boxes have fully entered the sneaker drop era.
