Evercade is cool, but can it play DOOM? Well, pretty soon, yeah! Blaze has announced “DOOM x Evercade,” a new collaboration with id Software.

What games are in the collection remains to be seen, but the 90s titles are a fair assumption, including Doom, Doom II: Hell On Earth, Ultimate Doom, Final Doom, and maybe Doom 64 if we behave. Naturally, whatever it is will run on Evercade’s usual bespoke cart hardware with support across the EXP, VS, and the newer revised systems.

Blaze typically includes modern niceties like save support and controller remapping where appropriate, while keeping the core feel of the games intact. There is no word yet on any mod or add-on pack support (Master Levels, please!), so do not expect official Sigil on cart unless they announce something extra down the line.

Read Blaze’s statement below:

From all of us at Blaze, we’d like to wish our friends at id Software a Happy 35th Anniversary!

To celebrate, we’ve dropped a little teaser of what’s to come this year with Evercade and their iconic franchise – DOOM!

We’ll be talking more about this great partnership later in 2026, but for now, enjoy the teaser!

Community response has been a mix of hype and people immediately asking if this means Quake is next. With Activision and Atari already on board and now Bethesda joining the party, Evercade’s licensed game collection is becoming quite formidable. If nothing else, DOOM x Evercade makes one thing clear: this “quirky little cart system” is quietly turning into a pocket‑sized history of big‑name bangers.
