During CES 2025, My Arcade has announced a new collection of arcade inspired devices, named the Gamestation Retro.
The collection of devices will feature over 100 officially licensed classic titles from Banda Namco and Capcom. The collection comes just days to the previously revealed Gamestation Pro, and also fills a similar niche that My Arcade is more than familiar with.
The Collection
The first of the three main devices is the Gamestation Retro Go, a tablet-like handheld with built-in controls on both sides of the device, similar to the Nintendo Switch.
It’s expected to feature an 8-inch screen and a rechargeable battery, but details beyond that point have yet to be disclosed. With a price tag of $199.99, it will be interesting to see what other capabilities may be found within the Retro Go. Its price makes it rival other popular retro handheld devices like the Retroid Pocket 5 and Mini, but until more information on the device is released, we won’t know how will it fares against the competition.
Next up is the Gamestation Retro Pro, a more consolidated variant that will deliver HDMI output at 1080p and come packaged with two rechargeable controllers; estimated to cost $149.99.
Finally, the Gamestation Mega Pro is a classic, miniaturized arcade cabinet. Its design is reminiscent of the many arcade cabinets My Arcade has released in the past, and it is said to have a similar number of games preinstalled.
Based off the image shown, it will have a larger footprint than that of other My Arcade cabinets like the PAC-MAN Joystick Player or Pole Position Racing Player. Those devices, while not directly handheld machines, are tiny enough to rival the size of one. The Gamestation Retro Mega, however, looks to be a bit larger for those with more free space available on any available countertop.
The Gamestation Mega Pro will house a 10.1-inch screen, mechanical buttons, a wooden casing, and cost gamers $299.99 once available.
New Gamestation Controllers
My Arcade has also announced two new controllers alongside the aforementioned consoles.
The Gamestation Retro Gamepad is a wireless controller with a similar physical build to any standard controller on the market today. However, it differs in that it has six main action buttons, and singular paddle alongside an itsd-pad. It is expected to hit store shelves for $39.99.
The Gamestation Retro Arcade Stick aims to inject a bit more classic imagery by having both a joystick and what appears to be an Atari-style paddle, and will retail for $69.99.
Details on the screens being used, specs inside of the respective consoles, and titles included are still scarce, but based off of the amount of announcements My Arcade is making during CES 2025, it should be of no surprise that the brand is eager to continually release classically inspired consoles for handheld and console gamers alike.
My Arcade’s history is filled with handhelds with preinstalled games, tiny arcade cabinets, small portable single-game players, and just recently they’ve showed off the Gamestation Pro, which looks like more premium than their other market offerings.
As stated above, details for each of these upcoming releases still incredibly scarce, but keep your eyes on Retro Handhelds to see what the company brings as CES 2025 rolls on.
