MechDIY has published the first proper photos of TrimUI‘s upcoming Brick Pro. The MechDIY photos show a clean, chunky plastic shell with that same tall silhouette, a 4‑inch screen, and the headline feature: dual hall joysticks, complete with RGB.
Functionally, not much has changed from what we already reported. This is still an Android-based device, and the CPU has yet to be confirmed, which means PS2 is still more potential rather than promise. The original r/TrimUI clip in our last article showed NetherSX2 running in a lean Android build, and while performance looked pretty impressive, it remains to be seen whether that parlor trick left burn blisters on the player’s hand.
Given the popularity of the TrimUI Brick, which saw quite a bit of resurgence with the release of the Brick Hammer, it’ll be interesting to see how the Brick Pro is received. TrimUI seems to be keeping the formula the same, with the exception of adding the dual joysticks and switching to Android. What would be pretty awesome is if TrimUI opted for dual-booting software experience, leaving the door open for those who want this kind of device but with PortMaster support.

If the price lands right and the chipset can actually push PS2 at acceptable settings, then we’re basically looking at a nicer-feeling Brick with RGB jewelry and a lot of competition breathing down its neck. Either way, we’ve moved from silhouette teases to full blown fashion shows. Now we just have to wait and see if the spec sheet and MSRP justify yet another tall boy in the case.
