I do not think there is a harder working person in the texture pack space than Henriko Magnifico, and for a swell New Years treat, he dropped a large update to arguably his best work: The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess for GameCube 4K project. Now officially in it’s 3.0 release, the change log contains a plethora of updates, and some standouts include:
- Stability update to the base version of Dolphin (PC only)
- A complete overhaul of the UI to improve readability and retain the original design
- Improved character textures
- A complete overhaul of the Forest Temple
- Significant improvements to Hyrule field
- Improved character textures
- Improved fidelity in most areas of the game
- Heavily refined post processing shaders (Mostly PC related)
- Overhauled color and tone mapping
It should be stated that this version of the texture pack is locked behind Henriko’s Patreon, but it’s only $3 for monthly access. That being said, this is typical in the scene and these guys deserve every rupee. On the Patreon, just look for the download to get access to the 4K and 1080p versions.
Twilight Princess 4K: How Does it Look?
It looks great on both PC and my AYN Thor Pro! I would recommend a device with a minimum of 8gb of RAM because texture packs require it to properly buffer shaders in advance. If you are concerned about RAM usage, I would just install the 1080p version of the pack. Installing textures on an Android device can get a bit complicated, so if you would like to see a guide in the near future, sound off in the comments! Post processing is limited on Android, but these textures on their own look fantastic and do little to deviate from the intended source material.
