GoRetroid has posted a preview video of their newest handheld accessory, the Retroid Dual Screen. If you haven’t been previously acquainted, the Dual Screen is, well, just that. It’s an additional, hinged screen that can be added to your base Retroid Pocket 5 model.
Retroid Dual Screen Add-On 3DS Demo
What We Can See
The secondary screen will clip onto the back of the Pocket 5 (along with both Mini models and the Pocket 4 Pro) and connect via the USB-C port. The demo starts off with a demonstration of the touch-screen capabilities of the secondary screen, so if you were concerned that touch might not be on the menu, fear not. The user is shown navigating around the mirrored screens via touch input on either end, and it looks quite smooth and intuitive.
Additional dual-screen options are shown off in the video, like the ability to watch a YouTube video on the upper display while emulating and playing a game on the lower.
Of course, the meat of the video is the content that everyone has been waiting to see: 3DS gameplay. We know that the Snapdragon chipset in the Retroid Pocket 5 is capable of a great 3DS emulation experience already, but the second touchscreen definitely takes things to another level. Buyers who already own a compatible Retroid device may soon have an option for one of the most compelling ways to play DS and 3DS games around.
- Retroid Dual Screen Add-on: $69
- Dual Screen Carrying Case: $10
- Dual Screen Protector: $5
- Dual Screen Add-on Back Clip: $15
At a price point of $69, it doesn’t feel like such a luxury purchase that it would give me pause to wait for a dedicated dual-screen device. I’m willing to dive in at that price, but first, someone on the team has to gift me a Pocket 5. Volunteers thus far have proven difficult to find, but I will keep pestering them.
We’ll have to wait to get our hands on the second screen for full impressions, but this demo certainly looks promising. If interested, you can purchase the DS add-on from our link below.

Looks like a DNA Duo rip off, they didn’t even think about the fact that the RP4 Pro has a USB C port off center and the connector thing is covering fan holes, buttons, and ports? Did they whip this together in an hour and call it a day like they do with many of their products that fail?
Because its for the 5 not the 4…
According to them it works for the 4 mind you they still didn’t even make the connector thing properly for the 5 because it covers vents, buttons, and ports. I have to use High Performance for 3DS on the 5 otherwise most games wrong like poop on that thing. So having those vents blocked and the volume rocker blocked is very intrusive hahaha
They have different adapters for the screen that you choose from @EmuDad
How dare you call it a 3DS without a 3D screen.
At best it’s a 2DS.
At least be honest and call it a 2DS …
unless it does 3D.
Then tell us about the 3D screen.

Too bad the DNA duo is made by a pretentious cancer to the community developer who does nothing but cry on social media about things he doesn’t like.
They have different adapters you re re. And this is for the 5 m, doesn’t matter if it’s compatible with the 4, if you have a 4 I guess that means man up and get the 5, or shut up emomom.
If they make a pocket 6 with a Snapdragon 8 elite and this sort of adapter it would be pretty much a do-everything device. I’d finally have a reason to upgrade from my 3+!
