Ready-to-Run PortMaster Games

These ones are the easiest to get going: just download from PortMaster and play. This list of freeware, demos, and open-source projects is ready to play on dozens of devices.

• Amoebax: Amoebax is a cute and addictive action-puzzle game. Due an awful mutation, some amoeba’s species have started to multiply until they take the world if you can’t stop them.
• Azimuth: Azimuth is a metroidvania game, and something of an homage to the previous greats of the genre (Super Metroid in particular).
• Bar Hop: A rhythm game inspired by Frogger. Hop to the bar and back for 7 days straight without getting hit or falling in.
• Cubosphere: Game similar to Kula World Over 450 levels in 34 different designs!
• Merp In Merpworld: Explore fields of warm grass and wildflowers. Glide through the sky with your leaf. Elude predating fauna, or make mischief instead.
• Mice Amaze: Place your arrows to guide mice to your house, but watch out for snakes and sick mice.
• OilWar: Evil army is attacking your land and tries to steal your oil.
• Operius DX: Blast off into Operius DX, the ultimate evolution of the popular, retro-inspired, high-speed arcade shooter, Operius!
• SELF: A short game about a lost soul. Recover the fragments of your SELF. Be touched by the higher being.
• Super Pentagon: This is a fangame based on original game Super Hexagon by Terry Cavanagh, made for Nokia 3310 Jam 3. Be sure to give the original game a spin!.
• The Death Of Santa: Santa must gather each gift along his way across and up treacherous platforms. Watch your step! Don’t let the fat guy in red become the splat guy in red!
• Unwin: Unwin is a one screen Sokoban puzzle game where you use the ‘Unwin’ button to uncollect stars, independent of Undo. Use the Stars to collect the Stars then make it to the exit.
• Vacuous Sugar Quest: Play as Vac, an adventurer trying to climb Sugar Mountain to prove her sugar gliding abilities!
• Voidbeat: Voidbeat is a game of allegory. A world of greys, a beat that must be followed, and a series of voids that pulse to the rhythm. What you make of it is up to you.

These titles are also free, but require an extra step, such as providing a specific BIOS, a freeware data file from another website (like itch.io), or a legally-owned ROM. Where possible, a link to the files is provided.

• A Thanksgiving Game: A mini farming sim that lasts just 5 days, much like the game jam it was made for. You are tasked with preparing a small town’s Thanksgiving feast by Thursday.
• April Dabble Dazzle: The fruit of the Great Tree grows all year long. To claim it, one must follow the Mazana Tribe’s ritual.
• Brad Has A Pain: Brad’s sole goal is to stop Lisa from spreading her evil across Olathe at any and all costs.
• Bushido Panda: Take up your katana and fight back in this grand 8-bit adventure! Will you be able to save Japanda from ruin?
• Shin Fangame Tensei: Build a team of demons and summon the right party to defeat your enemies. Each demon has a unique set of skills that determine their behavior in battle, so carefully consider their positioning as to not waste their talents.
• The Sword Witch’s Apprentice: A brief sword-fighting adventure controlled entirely with the directional inputs. It offers about ten minutes of fast, focused action as you live the life of the Sword Witch’s apprentice.
• Void Call: Void Call is a retro-styled bullet hell made for the “Bullet Hell Jam 5”

Paid Games

These ports bring fantastic commercial games to your handheld, but require you to provide the data files from a copy you own on a platform like Steam or GOG.

• Armor Stride: Sir Stepsalot is trapped in the Cursed Forest! Armed with his sword and bomb pouch, he must fight monsters, dodge traps, and seek treasure to sell. But he can’t linger — something dark is chasing him through the woods.
• Astronautilus: Your ship has crash-landed on a stray rogue planet, and you’re out of fuel … It’s up to you to delve beneath the frozen surface and find a way to get your ship back into space. Fight strange sea creatures and uncover the mysteries of the world beneath the ice!
• Binky’s Trash Service: Play as BINKY in a perilous, precision platformer where you run a garbage collection service for EVIL LAIRS! Optimise your speedrun strats and empty all the trash in 15 unique and colourful mini-Metroidvania maps!
• Day Of Drift: DAY OF DRIFT is an arcade – style drifting racing game!
• Driven Out: Beautiful 16 bit retro art style with fluid animations and deliberate combat. Read the enemy and act accordingly in this seamless world without any load screens.
• Gravity Storm – First Mission: Break the laws of physics, dash and shoot your way through levels full of hazards and machines gone rogue. In this retro game, you control Project Gravity Storm, an advanced machine able to control gravity itself; however, the mother computer will not make things easy for you.
• Mayhem Mail: Mayhem Mail is a classic single-screen arcade platformer in the vein of Donkey Kong, Bubble Bobble and Mario Bros, with some added puzzle elements.
• Pengu Never Left: Fish and relax as the days pass by; maybe you’ll fish up something interesting? There’s plenty to fish up, unlock and discover!
• Return: Shoot, slash, and roll your way through dangerous enemies and ancient bosses, purchase items and unlock powerful weapons, and explore your unfamiliar home for parts to repair your ship.
• Sidescape: Two old-school games collide in this Platformer/Dungeon Crawler hybrid. Join Captain Grisham and Sir Knight, as they set out to restore their worlds and stop the evil cyborg, Allegair. Switch at will between Captain Grisham and Sir Knight, each with a unique set of abilities; and perspective!
• Super Helm Knight: Play as Walt, who must take back Helmland from the evil group of knights. A retro platformer with short, challenging levels.
• Task Force Kampas: Task Force Kampas is inspired by the Golden Age of japanese shmups, and adds new mechanics, randomly generated levels and handcrafted bosses.
• Upaon: Help this sympathetic Snake on her journey to the hidden treasure, solve puzzles that mix mechanics of the classic game Snake with Sokoban
