Earlier this month, we heard rumors about OnePlus potentially entering the gaming handheld space. It turns out that won’t be the case, at least not yet, but the company is dipping its toes into mobile gaming. Alongside the introduction of the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra, it also introduced a dedicated controller designed for its brand new phone.
The phone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, along with a “Esports Triple Core” co-processor, and a 165Hz display. Other specs of the Ace 6 Ultra include a massive 8600mAh battery, complete with 120W charging, and an IP69K water resistance rating.

The Ace 6 Ultra will slot into the controller, which is being called the “OnePlus Marksman Gaming Controller (translated)”. The controller features two rear triggers that offer a 1,000Hz polling rate and 1.8ms response time, along with two additional customizable macro buttons. Unfortunately, you won’t find a D-pad, face buttons, or even shoulder buttons, as primary controls are handled by the phone’s touchscreen.

Not only that, but the Marksman will also support the use of a magnetic cooling fan, which could come in quite handy depending on the games that you plan to play. There’s also a built-in USB-C port, ensuring that you can keep your phone charged up during those longer playing sessions.
Much of this doesn’t really come as a surprise, with the exception of one feature. OnePlus has included a “built-in gaming antenna” with the controller to ensure that the “signal is stronger.” It seems like kind of an odd addition, but we’ll have to wait and see if it actually makes a difference.
OnePlus is expected to debut the Ace 6 Ultra and its new “Marksman Gaming Controller” in a little over a week, on April 28. It’s unlikely this will make its way to North America, but there’s always a chance we’ll see it pop up on AliExpress.
