Nintendo Directs are some of the most exciting moments in gaming news. Wednesday we were lucky enough to have another one grace our screens. It wasn’t a full-blown Nintendo Direct, but a Partner Showcase. Still, the event provided some excellent news. I am here to highlight some of the best parts of the direct that I am most excited about. If you were a big fan of the Nintendo 3DS, this showcase was probably a hit for you!

Unicorn Overlord

Atlus and VanillaWare is a very tasty combination. Unicorn Overlord, despite an interesting name, looks like a gorgeous tactical RPG game. You control Elaine, a young prince on a journey to liberate 5 nations. The combat looks very interesting and it sees you recruiting new allies to your team. A demo releases today with the official release coming next month on March 8th.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance

Shin Megami Tensei V is back with this enhanced version called Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengence! You will journey back into a post-apocalyptic Tokyo and experience new locations, demons, and stories. The game will allow you to choose an alternate route to try the game in a new way. This one has a release date of June 21st.

Super Monkey

Sega is back with their first new Monkey Ball game in over a decade! The game includes 16-player online game modes, 200 new levels, and a ton of ways to customize your monkey avatar. The game modes are racing, banana hunt, robot smash, and more! Monkey Ball is always exciting with its easy-to-play, difficult-to-master gameplay. This one is expected to be released on June 20 with pre-orders beginning today.

Fantasy Life: The Girl Who Steals Time

I love Fantasy Life. It is probably my favorite game that came out for the 3DS. It was such a delight to play and I was so excited to get more information on the next game in the series. This game has you traveling between the past and present and customizing your very own island! You can swap different jobs and roles to learn new skills. You can play this game how you want to and if you have not tried the series, I highly recommend it! This one is slated for an October 10th release.

Pepper Grinder

Pepper Grinder looks like a small team made their own version of Drill Dozer. It looks like a fun adventure and intense platforming. It looks like a game that will be a blast to play when you master the mechanics of the game. There are even some vehicles you can ride as well by the looks of it. There is a free demo of the game releasing today and the official release is next month, March 28th.

Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On

Well, I know what I am going to be doing today. Pocket Card Jockey is such a fun game created by Game Freak. You play as a jockey earning rewards by winning horse races. The game combines taking care of your horse with solitaire to compete in the races. It is a unique combination and this new edition looks great! This game has already been out on Apple Arcade, but this will be its first appearance on the Switch. The best part? It is available today and there is also a demo to try out as well.

Endless Ocean Luminous

An open-world underwater adventure? That sounds intriguing! This game features up to 30-player online multiplayer as well. You will travel in the ocean and explore new environments and different fish. Hopefully, this one runs well on the Switch, because the gameplay in the trailer looks gorgeous. This releases on May 2nd with pre-orders opening today.

Sadly no surprise Nintendo Switch 2 announcements, but great to get some new games to look forward to. What did you think of the Direct? What was your favorite part and what are you looking forward to? Let us know in the comments or in our Discord!
