The wait for the Miyoo Flip is finally almost over. Like actually, for real this time. Early this morning, the Miyoo Flip became available for pre-order over at Amazon, with a starting price of $89.99. According to the listing, the Flip is set to be released on January 5, which is less than two weeks away!
There are four different colors to choose from, which include Black, Gray, White, and Yellow. Both the Black and Gray colorways provide a touch of nostalgia as the former features Red X+Y buttons, while we see two different purple tones on the ABXY buttons with the latter.
As for specs, the Miyoo Flip features a 3.5-inch display with a 640 x 480 resolution. In terms of power, the exact chip isn’t specified, the listing states that the Flip is using a Cortex-A55 CPU clocked at 1.8GHz. It’s probably safe to assume this is just the RK3566, so at least we already know what to expect from performance.
Paired with the RK3566 is 1GB of RAM, along with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi built-in. Battery life should be fairly decent with this RG35XX SP competitor, thanks to the 3,000mAh battery. But we suspect that custom firmware will make it even better.
Rounding out the specs and dimensions, the listing reveals that the Miyoo Flip is going to be a little bit smaller and more compact than the RG35XX SP. It will be interesting to see just how close the Miyoo Flip gets to the size of the original Game Boy Advance SP.
Currently, only the Black and Gray colors are available for pre-order, but we’re hoping that won’t be the case for too long. I’m not sure how many will opt for the Yellow, but the White with its pastel buttons is sure to be a hit.
That being said, you won’t want to wait too long to get your pre-orders in, as we don’t know how much stock Miyoo has been building up.
