It’s been more than two months since we first caught wind of the MANGMI Air X, with a few details being scattered about before it began arriving in the hands of reviewers. Throughout that entire time, MANGMI remained mum on how much the Air X was going to cost and when it was going to launch. Well, we don’t have to guess any longer as the MANGMI Air X will launch in “Mid-September” with an Early Bird price of $79.99.

Mangmi Air X Launch and Price Details

Over the past few weeks, Stubbs and Rob have been taking everyone on an adventure of sorts, as they both received review units. Stubbs already says it’s the “best Android handheld under $100,” while Rob continues to be impressed by its overall performance.

Even before the price was officially revealed, we learned that MANGMI planned to sell it somewhere between $70 and $90. And while that might not seem like a big deal, check out the full spec sheet to see why we’re excited:

  • Display: 5.5-inch IPS, 1920 x 1080, 450 nits
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 662
  • GPU: Adreno 610
  • RAM: 4GB LPDDR4X
  • Storage: 64GB eMMC w/ microSD card slot
  • Cooling: Single-fan
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0
  • Battery: 5,000mAh
  • Charging: 15W
  • Ports: USB-C, 3.5mm Audio Jack, 1x microSD
  • Extras: 6-axis gyroscope, RGB Hall joysticks, Hall triggers
  • Dimensions: 203.47 x 87.39 x 16.80mm
  • Weight: 286 grams

So, for under $100, you get an Android handheld powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, all packaged in what appears to be a well-built device. Rob and Stubbs have continued talking about how much they’ve enjoyed using the Air X even when we’re not on the podcast or a livestream, giving me and Ban a bit of FOMO.

Circling back to pricing, once the Early Bird timeframe has concluded, the retail price jumps up to $89.99. Oh, and if you plan on pre-ordering one of these for yourself, head over to the Air X landing page, enter your email, and you’ll get another $5 off.

It will definitely be interesting to see how well the Air X is received by the community, especially considering how long it’s been since we first learned about it and when it’s going to be released. Nevertheless, I’m still going to try and get one for myself, barring any other unexpected handheld announcements between now and then. Until then, I’ll just have to live vicariously through the Stubbs and Rob.
