It’s been a long and arduous journey to get to this point, but the MANGMI Air X is FINALLY available to order, directly from the company. If you manage to jump in quickly, the Early Bird Offer will knock $10 off the retail price, and you’ll get a free carrying case, all for just shy of $80.
And the best part? You aren’t pre-ordering a device, as MANGMI says that devices are “ready-to-ship,” which is simply awesome. Especially considering that the Air X was originally supposed to have already launched about a month ago.

The Time is Now
It’s been almost four months since we first caught wind of the MANGMI Air X, with Ban surprisingly (and randomly) stumbling across it. Since then, Stubbs and Rob the Retro Tech Dad spent much of that time talking about it nonstop for a variety of reasons. The most important of which is that the Air X could just be an instant hit as soon as it arrives on doorsteps.
Why are both Rob and Stubbs of that opinion? Because we’re getting a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip in an ergonomic handheld for less than $100. At the time of its announcement, there wasn’t really much in the way of competition for MANGMI, but a lot has changed since then.
Notably, AYANEO announced the Pocket Air Mini, which is essentially just a shrunken down version of the Pocket Air from back in 2023. The difference being that AYANEO’s offering sports a 4.2-inch display with a 1280 x 960 resolution, while being powered by the MediaTek G90T. However, the biggest shock is that the Pocket Air Mini is AYANEO’s first sub-$100 handheld.
When pre-orders open on October 17 at 8AM ET, you’ll be able to pick up the 2GB/32GB model for just $69 with the 3GB/64GB variant coming in at $79. This is $20 less than what both versions will cost once the Indiegogo campaign comes to a close.
There were some concerns that MANGMI simply waited too long, but with AYANEO opting to go with another Indiegogo campaign, they might be in luck. It’s well-known that AYANEO IGG campaigns take forever to begin arriving, even for those who were at the front of the line. With the inventory on-hand, this means that MANGMI can begin shipping as soon as the orders start to roll in, and then, it’s just a matter of waiting for shipping.
Nevertheless, we’re excited to see a new contender in the retro handheld space, and with a handheld that, by many accounts, appears to offer incredible value. If you want to grab one for yourself, hit the button below, but make sure you move quickly as we don’t quite know when the Early Offer pricing will come to an end.

I’m surprised you mentioned the Ayaneo which doesn’t have a release date yet, but didn’t the MagicX One35, which actually has a ship date and is currently for preorder at $65 for the same 4gb RAM and 64gb internal storage. Stronger G85 chip and a 3.5” screen that will definitely be pocketable instead of the 4.2” maybe on the Ayaneo and the 5.5” probably not on the Air X.
