AYANEO sub-brand KONKR has revealed the price for its upcoming Pocket Fit. The device is the first showcase from the company after announcing the new KONKR branding for more “budget-friendly” options within retro handhelds.

AYANEO has steadily released consoles over the last few years. The Pocket S2, the Pocket Micro and Classic, and even the new Pocket DS all managed to carve out specific niches amongst this already small niche. The company typically pairs excessive power with sleek designs, and naturally, that is followed by higher-than-average prices for their units.

KONKR Means Budget…?

As time passed, the price disparity between AYANEO devices and their peers became more tangible and noticeable. For instance, the Pocket DMG retails for $400, but a device with enough power for games suited for its screen, the Retroid Pocket Classic, released earlier this year at nearly 1/4 the cost.

The new KONKR brand was positioned as one looking to be cheaper in price than other AYANEO offerings, but after the announcement of the price for the new Pocket Fit, that may just be a technicality.

KONKR Pocket Fit Price Reveal

The Pocket Fit will retail for less than $389. When looking at the device, it looks nearly identical to the Retroid Pocket 5, but with its D-pad placement switched and additional back triggers, not to mention its unique colored backplate. It also features parallel triggers and a 1080p 144Hz refresh rate on its screen compared to the 60Hz on the Retroid Pocket 5.

The device will also utilize the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 announced earlier this year at GDC 2025. This chipset should net better performance with experimental emulators for PS3 and 360, but until our review is live, no one knows for certain.

The Elephant in the Room

The price of this device remains expensive and falls into the AYANEO trap of pairing new, powerful chips with devices that cannot fully utilize them in a meaningful way. While the device looks sleek and the design looks more ergonomic than most of its peers, the price point may be something people are less than excited about. Especially considering other options that may fit the bill, like the Retroid Pocket 5, are so much cheaper and easier to obtain now that we’re months removed from its initial launch.

Konkr Pocket Fit: Yellow - Front

The KONKR brand could eventually lead to a riveting success for AYANEO, and this device could be the beginning of that journey. But in some ways, namely price-based ones, it seems more like the same formula is being applied to devices of a smaller scale. Instead of making super-powerful and big Android devices with unique features like swappable buttons and layouts, modest designs are being attached to the stronger chipsets. Which, to be fair, is technically a less expensive option.

If you’re looking to preorder the KONKR Pocket Fit, the Indiegogo page is live now. There, you can sign up for email updates directly from AYANEO about any changes or information related to the Pocket Fit and its eventual release.
