It is November and hopefully, you are ready to gobble up some new GotM games! Fall leaves, good food, family, and your favorite video game book club on your favorite handheld. I don’t know what else could be better.
Never Nominated was the theme voted for by our Champions Lounge. The games that were nominated had to have never been nominated in GotM before! If you want to know more about our GotX program and how to participate, check out my article about that here!

Time to get out your arcade stick and get yourself to playthrough this World War II shoot ’em up! This game takes place off the coast of the Midway Atoll and attacks the Japanese Air Fleet that just bombed the Americans.
This should be a quick finish for anyone wanting a completion this month as it is an hour or less to complete. You can also spam that credits button and finish it in one sitting! If you have a busy month of traveling for the holiday, then this may be the game for you!
‘96-99: Ape Escape
- Console: PS1
- Release: 1999
- Genre: Platformer
- HLTB: 7 hours
Ape Escape is a game that requires you to need 2 sticks for the PS1. It is one of the few games for the console that will not be playable on your single or no analog devices, so sorry Miyoo Mini fans. We have been having PS2 games for a bit now, so you are probably used to it now.
Ape Escape has you chasing and capturing a group of baboons that are on the loose. It is way more exciting than that as the game has you unlocking different gadgets and devices. This is a unique take on the genre with great-level design.
00+: Ratchet and Clank
- Console: PS2
- Release: 2002
- Genre: Platformer
- HLTB: 10 hours
Ratchet and Clank have crashed into GotM and even beat Crash Bandicoot. This is one of the most popular platformers from the PS2 era full of blasting excitement and innuendos that we are now old enough to understand.
This game stars 2 protagonists; Ratchet, an animal alien-like creature, and Clank, a know-it-all Robot. You must work together, unlock new weapons, complete different quests, and more. The ultimate goal? To save the universe of course!
RPGOTQ: Breath of Fire II
- Console: SNES, GBA
- Release: 1994
- Genre: JRPG
- HLTB: 36 hours
Ryu is back for another JRPG adventure! Well kind of, our protagonist shares the name and likeness of the Ryu from the first game, but apparently, they are different. One day Ryu finds everyone in his village has disappeared. He is part of the dragon clan and can transform into a dragon to battle.
This is a great classic JRPG from the SNES days. That being said, the game can feel a bit grindy and also have a ton of random encounters. Luckily there are improvement patches out there that can make the experience even better!
Those are our games this month, so drop by and join us in our Discord as we enjoy another great month of GotM. Which games are you excited to play? Also, we are excited to announce we have teamed up with EmuDeck! Make sure to check them out here.
