Don’t Starve fans have been asking for proper co-op on mobile for years, and it looks like 2026 is finally the year that happens. Don’t Starve Together is officially headed to iOS and Android, with Klei teaming up once again with port specialists Playdigious after a pretty bumpy path to get here.
Previous mobile outings like Pocket Edition and Shipwrecked brought the main game’s solo misery machine to phones, but this will be the first time the full multiplayer survival experience shows up in your pocket. Same nasty seasonal cycles just now with friends griefing you from a group chat instead of the other end of the couch.
If this sounds familiar, it is because this project already died once. Back in 2024, Netflix was set to publish Don’t Starve Together on mobile before one of the company’s regular internal shakeups took an axe to a bunch of in-development titles, Klei’s included. That led to the usual rumor mill about the port being dead for good, especially as Netflix’s own games push cooled down.
Instead, Playdigious kept at it. In late 2025, the studio popped up on Reddit to reassure people that work was still ongoing, saying they already had a first playable build and planned to share more news “soon.”
There is no release date yet beyond a broad 2026 window, and there are no hard details on cross-play, controller support, or how the usual barrage of updates will be handled. Still, for anyone who has been stuck running solo worlds on a phone while their main group lives on PC or console, just knowing a proper Together client is coming feels like a win.
