It’s kind of crazy to think about the pace at which AYANEO conducts business. The same week that AYANEO announced that the Pocket S Mini would ship with a 4,700mAh battery instead of the previously promised 6,000mAh cell, the company is back with a new product launch. After being teased last summer and unveiled later, the KONKR Fit is officially available for pre-order.
Not only is it available for pre-order, but AYANEO is yet again skipping the crowdfunding campaign and is instead relying on its own online storefront. This is a step in the right direction, but there’s a bit of a catch here too, as AYANEO has confirmed it won’t be shipping the KONKR Fit until the ‘end of April’ at the earliest.
KONKR Fit Specs

During the “Early Bird” phase, pricing for the KONKR Fit starts at $999 for the HX 370 model with 16GB of RAM and 512GB, which is the only SKU in that configuration. Meanwhile the HX 470 with 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage will set you back $1,299.
However, AYANEO states that “only 200 units” are available at the Early Bird pricing. So once the company sells out of those, the price will come in at either $1,299 or $1,699, depending on which chipset you want to go with.

Price and availability aside, the KONKR Fit looks to be quite a formidable Windows handheld, on paper. It’s equipped with a 7-inch 144Hz, OLED display, TMR Joysticks, Hall Effect triggers which even feature Dual-Mode Trigger Locks. It even packs a pretty sizable 80.85Wh battery, which should be plenty enough for an enjoyable gameplay session.
On the flip side, while we commend AYANEO for switching to its own website for pre-orders, it’s still a bit disappointing that the Fit won’t ship for another couple of months. And that’s provided that the company doesn’t run into issues as has been the case with many of its other handhelds released in the past year or two.

Darn. Was really hoping the 32G would be under 1K. Even the early bird price here is knocking on the door of LEGO 2 price.
