It’s been about a month or so since the RG477M was released, and wouldn’t ya know it, the Anbernic RG476H is just about ready for primetime. Anbernic started teasing its next handheld in early September, and has shared a few different videos ahead of its release. If you’re wondering what the RG476H plans to offer, then you’ve come to the right place.

Anbernic RG476H Specs

In 2025, we’ve seen Anbernic release an array of handhelds ranging from the budget-minded RG34XXSP to the premium-designed RG477M. With the Anbernic RG476H, we’re getting a handheld that’s somewhere in between, as it’s powered by the tried-and-true Unisoc T820, as opposed to the Dimensity 8300 from the RG557 and RG477M.

When looking at the entire spec-sheet, we’re basically looking at the same power as found in the RG Slide from earlier this year, or last year’s RG406V/RG406H. With that, the T820 is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage, while sporting a 5,000mAh battery. All of this is hidden behind a 4.7-inch LTPS display, complete with a 120Hz refresh rate, which is the same screen Anbernic began using earlier this year.

  • Display: 4.7-inch LTPS Touchscreen
  • Resolution: 1280×960
  • Refresh Rate: 120Hz
  • Processor: Unisoc T820
  • GPU: Mali-G57
  • RAM: 8GB LPDDR4X
  • Storage: 128GB UFS 2.2 + microSD
  • Battery: 5,000mAh
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0
  • Dimensions: 176 x 86 x 16mm
  • Weight: 290g

Beyond that, you might think this is a variation of the RG477M, and it’s easy to see why given the overall design. There are two major differences, starting with the combination of the glass front paired with a plastic rear shell.

The second difference is Anbernic’s surprising decision to implement stacked shoulder buttons, as opposed to the in-line shoulders found on the RG477M. We can only assume this has to do with the plastic/glass build as opposed to if the company were to go back to the aluminum well for a second handheld in a row.

Features

Since the Unisoc T820 is at the helm, we already know what to expect from the RG476H, so there won’t be any surprises about middling performance. However, Anbernic highlighted a couple of other features that weren’t previously available on last year’s T820 handhelds.

These include the likes of “Anbernic AI” which is practically just a UI wrapper for different AI chatbots that can be quickly accessed from any screen. This can help with translations if you can’t find an appropriate patch, but it also can attempt to be a guide if you end up finding yourself stuck on a certain level of a game.

Another feature of the RG476H is unsurprising given how 2025 has gone for handhelds so far. In the above showcase video, Anbernic confirmed that the RG476H can be used with a second display, allowing you to create a DIY Nintendo DS of sorts. That said, we can’t help but wonder when we’ll see Anbernic release an external display of its own.

RG476H Pricing and Pre-orders

We’ve yet to learn official pricing about the RG476H, but it doesn’t take rocket science to get a general idea. In his impressions video, Russ of Retro Game Corps suggested it’ll come in around $160, and we have to agree.

If you look at the other T820 handhelds in Anbernic’s lineup, the pricing ranges between $150 to $180, so it would make sense for the RG476H to fall somewhere in there. However, we won’t be surprised if there’s a pre-order discount of some sort, making it just a bit more palatable for those on the fence.

As soon as more information is made available, we’ll be sure to update this post.
